Greetings ~
Back on October 11, 2003, I was driving to work, minding my own business and fighting a yellow jacket that flew in the window. Okay! There was no yellow jacket. I just put that in for dramatic effect. But I was driving to work.
I was on Portage Trail Road in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and, as I drove along, something caught my attention. I thought, "Hark! What is this that I see?" Yeah, my mind works like that. On the corner of Portage Trail and some other road, there is a floral shop that is in an old gas station building. In the parking lot was this old Chevy stake bed truck.
The truck, I believe, was a 1936 to 1939 Chevrolet. Unrestored but in very good original condition. The body was covered by a very thin layer of rust giving it a great aged look. And it seemed to run perfectly.
The truck had no license plates which basically told me that they only used it to display flowers. It would be put in the bay overnight and brought out during the daytime.
Looking the truck over, I thing it would be a fairly easy restoration. I don't know what ever happened to it. But I hope that today it is still around somewhere and is living it's best life. But in 2003, I got these pictures of it. A really cool old truck.
